The beautiful days of summer are gone and autumn has arrived. For many people, this is a season of depression and anxiety, but if you know how to set up your life, you will go through it without worries.
How to stay happy and benefit from nature’s gifts
Even if the days became shorter and rainy days are here, you can still enjoy life and enjoy the benefit this year period brings.
- Spend more time in nature. The best way to benefit from the positive effect of nature is to take long walks in a park, in a forest, or anywhere you can find a green space. This will have a positive influence on your body, mind, and soul. The healing capacities of nature are well known for thousands of years and our modern daily life reduced our contact with nature significantly. If possible, turn your smartphone to Airplane mode, to avoid disturbances and to be more focused on nature. It’s very important to be present, to focus on your breath, smells of the plants, smell of the forest, singing birds, and wildlife that you can observe.
- Use your smartphone less, and observe reality more. Social media instead of bringing people closer together, just make them feel alone and some of them became addicted to it. I know people spend hours and hours watching videos, pictures, and useless posting on these “networks” and then, they complain about not having enough time for anything. While our computers and smartphones can be very useful tools, too many people are distracted by them to a point that they neglect themselves and the ones they love.
- Make it a habit to spend as much time as possible in nature. If you want to improve your life, and reduce depression and stress, anytime you have the chance go for a walk. If you live too far away from a park or a forest, create a green corner in your house. Adding natural plants to your environment will make you happier. It was scientifically proven that just adding a green potted plant to your desk will make you more creative and your stress level will be reduced. This will also give you something to do during rainy days and you will feel much better seeing that the plants you take care of will reward you with beautiful flowers and amazing green leaves.
- Take time to meditate. Even if you do it just a few days in one week, you will feel the benefits immediately. Meditation helps you focus, and forget about your worries and it will improve your overall state. If you have some natural oils to use for your meditation session, the positive effects will increase. If you don’t know how to do it, just search the web and you will find many different methods. Choose the one you feel is the best for you.
- Eat more natural foods. Autumn is the best season to recharge yourself with vitamins and minerals. This season brings us a huge variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Make it a habit to eat as much as possible natural fruits and vegetables. The happiest people in the world have the chance to own a small garden where they can cultivate healthy plants and ensure a healthy supply of natural foods. If you don’t own a piece of land try to rent one or if that’s also not possible, try to select the best quality of local products when you buy something. It is much better and healthier to eat local foods instead of the exotic ones that go through many chemical processes in order to preserve them. Many people make the mistake to think that they are eating healthy if they consume some very aggressively advertised products even if they are heavily treated with chemicals and radiation. Some of them after these processes became just an empty mass, stripped of all vitamins and minerals.
- Learn how to cook healthily. Even if it’s more convenient to cook everything with oil and fry everything, today’s technology allows us to cook using hot air or steam. Learn how to cook with low fats and what is the best way to cook your vegetables. If you do this, you will never need to take supplements (many of them don’t even work) and you will be healthier and happier. It was proven that strong minerals and vitamins imbalance, can lead to depression and weak immunity. Don’t forget: natural is always better! Trust nature and you will be rewarded with a better life.
- At the end of the day, it depends on us of we will live a healthy and happy life or we will spend our lives taking medication that will make our life miserable and the pharma companies very rich.
The small thing that we can do for free in our life can have a huge positive impact on our life. Clean air, healthy food, and positive relationships can influence our lives so much, that we will never suffer from depression, lack of energy, or lack of friends.
