How can we improve our health by losing weight?
To be overweight is not only a physical problem but also a reason for a bad mood, since we always have the tendency to compare ourselves with other people that look fit and in great shape.
While following this advice won’t make you look great in days (as many “programs” on the market promise), you’ll start to get back in shape and this will change the way you see yourself and will make you also start feeling great!

Effective weight loss strategies: The importance of giving up white flour and sugar
This includes in first place all the bakeries, cookies, “healthy bars” and other “wonder products” on the market.
This is not an easy step if you love sweets, but it will have the highest impact: not only you’ll lose weight, but you’ll reduce the risk of diabetes, since carbohydrates keep our glycemic index at high levels for short time, and as soon as it starts to go down, you’ll crave for some cookies or bakery products.
You can replace white flour with whole-grain products, but don’t exaggerate the use of them!

Give-up sugar
For many people, this may sound like a mission impossible, but it’s of paramount importance. Besides the glycemic index problems, sugar is known to destroy your teeth, it’s a primary source of acidity in your blood and entire body, which makes a great environment for diseases.
Most people feel happier seconds after eating something sweet. But this is a trick of the brain since sugar is proven to make us dependent.
It’s also the reason why your cholesterol level might be high since small crystals of sugar cause very small scratches on your blood vessels and cholesterol try to fix that by patching the wound and therefore thickening your blood vessels (risk of an aneurism or heart attack).
I know it sounds “trendy” or fashionable, but this is the truth: if you don’t take care of what you put in your system, you can’t expect to feel and look great! You don’t have to start to become a fanatic, but just reading the labels on the products you buy, will make you aware of how much bad food you use to eat, especially sugar and salt, that are used in very generous amounts in every product, from cookies to sausages and canned food.
By the way, you should never eat can food, except in the case of natural calamities, since canned food besides sugar contains all kinds of bad additives!
There are so many ways to live a healthy life, save money and be happy!

Start doing some physical exercise
By this, I don’t mean hitting the gym every day, but it helps to establish an acceptable routine like taking every day a 30-minute walk (preferably in nature). Don’t run, just have a normal walk focusing on breathing in and out. Besides the physical effect, this will also calm your mind and make you feel better. For better results, start by doing some push-ups, squats, or other exercises that use your own body weight. These kind of exercises are the most effective and makes you use all your body muscles, unlike the gym machines that are focused only on a group of muscles at a time! Don’t forget to stretch before and after you have your workout!

Make a written plan with your goal and a realistic deadline
It may sound strange that you need a plan for this but remember: if the captain of a ship will start navigating without having a clear destination in mind and a map, he’ll definitely end up drifting.
So, besides giving you a clear interval in which to see the change, it will also keep you motivated along the route since lack of motivation makes a lot of people come back to the “old ways” and blame anybody else except themselves for failure!
This endeavor requires a lot of discipline and motivation, but once you start seeing the results, you’ll never want to go back.
If you want to save yourself from disappointment and also save your money, please stay away from rapid methods like “Get in shape in 10 days”, “Lose fat now”, “Magic pills”, “Tibetan tea for weight loss”, or any other “miracles” for sale over the internet! They are all fake! You can get in shape only with discipline and motivation. Don’t get fooled. Be smart!
